Deepspar conducted a survey of 50 data recovery companies across 14 countries. Their report stated that drive failure and drive read instability combined account for 68 percent of data loss. This is obviously more than anyone could have anticipated.
- Operating System Failure
Although the chances are rare, we cannot rule it out entirely. In the case of the Windows operating system, some end users may have multiple partitions while some may keep the data and windows installation files within the same drive.
In some instances, it is possible to recover the operating system with the data intact, however, there is always the risk of partial data loss.
